CDC Director Rochelle Walinsky tests positive for COVID-19: Experiencing mild symptoms after weeks of booster

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed Saturday that Director Dr. Rochelle Walinsky has tested positive for COVID-19 and is exhibiting “mild symptoms.”
A statement from the CDC said Walensky’s positive test result is “consistent with CDC guidelines” and that she is “isolating at home.”
They also said the CDC director would be attending their scheduled meetings roughly.
“CDC executives and close contacts have been notified of her positive test and are taking appropriate steps to monitor her health,” the statement said.
Last month, Walinsky received her COVID-19 booster injection of bivalent omicron. After the vaccination, she was photographed pointing her thumbs up, which was posted in a health tweet from CVS, Fox News reported.
The director, along with other health officials, warned of the potential for an increase in COVID-19 infections next winter.
On Saturday, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control, Dr. Rochelle Walinsky, tested positive for Covid-19. And he has “mild symptoms,” according to a statement from the CDC.

According to the White House, the general consensus at the recent meeting that brought together federal officials and the leading health care organizations representing physicians, nurses and physician assistants was “widespread agreement that the most important thing for Americans, especially older adults, can be themselves and their loved ones. Those drugs protect of COVID-19 and serious illnesses by immediately receiving an updated COVID-19 vaccine.”
Before the months were up, Walinsky and other health officials were urging the American public to get a booster dose.
Last month, the director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) announced that the boosters would provide comprehensive protection against branchlines.
“The updated COVID-19 boosters are designed to provide better protection against the latest circulating COVID-19 variant. They can help restore protection that has diminished since the previous vaccination and are designed to provide broader protection against the new variants.
