A despicable man was recorded hurling racist and homophobic language at a group of American soldiers – while the brave soldier displayed fearless restraint and disregarded the offender.
The chilling clips released on Wednesday show the moment four men in army gear practice their composure with the American flag after confronting the villain in a Polish shopping centre.
The man filming the group asks if they are in Poland spreading “George Floyd culture” and what they think the US Secretary of Health and Human Services is “despicable”.
He then berates the black soldier in the group, warning him to “stay away from those white women” and that “promiscuity was a crime in your country”.
The man behind the camera—and he has a strange American accent—follows by saying, “Now you’re in a white country, we don’t worship people and Mexicans.”
The man first caught the soldiers’ attention by asking him “you Americans” in the now viral video
After the man pictured told the black soldier, “Get away from those white women,” one of his friends patted him on the back and continued to point him toward the exit.
The shocking video quickly sparked outrage on social media — more than a million people watched the military members show restraint as they were vandalized by a pedestrian in the mall.
In the two-and-a-half-minute video, the man repeatedly tries to anger the American soldiers and cajole them into responding with targeted language and questions.
The clip begins with the man approaching the four soldiers and asking, “Are you Americans?” The men answered, “Yes.”
He then immediately asked the group, “Are you here to spread sodomy or what? Isn’t this America’s number one export?”
The brave group initially laughed at the abuse, then promptly turned their backs on it and walked away.
However, this does not prevent the man from hurling insensitive and directed questions at them while they refuse to take his bait.
The group continues walking with their backs to the camera as the man walks around.
He follows up his initial question about bestiality by saying, “What is it, is it George Floyd culture or is it brutality?” , referring to the “number one export” he mentioned earlier.
He later asks, “Are you guys here to spread ‘anal sex’ before saying, ‘Isn’t that what you guys learned in your training?'” ”
The soldiers remained calm when the man confronted them in the mall
As the soldiers walk away, the man tries to get them to respond from a different angle.
He asks, “What do you think of your fucking health secretary?”
The unidentified man was apparently referring to transgender US Secretary of Health and Human Services Rachel Leland Levine.
“How about defending a country that doesn’t make sense to you as a citizen?” Then he asks. “Every Mexican who crosses the border is literally one of you.”
The men appear to be talking among themselves, walking in pairs, and still ignoring the man pictured.
The men carry all of the US Army’s Briggs Aircraft and have the American flag on them in the video
One of the soldiers looked frustrated after the man said, “Now you’re in a white country. We don’t worship N*****s and Mexicans.”
As the group approaches the building’s exit, the man decides to try another approach by making a racially targeted comment about the only black member of the group.
“Keep Poland white,” the man said without answering.
“Get away from those white women. Hey, stay away from those white women.”
The soldier turns around briefly before his friend puts a hand on his back, comforts him, and also leads him to the exit doors.
After that comment didn’t work, he then stated that “mixing of races was a crime in your country.”
Miscegenation is defined as the mixing of people who are considered members of different races.
The soldiers continue walking together throughout the video, successfully ignoring the man
The soldiers are shown stepping as the man pelts them with racist and homophobic comments throughout the video
In a tweet responding to a second video, the director yelled at the group, “You’re in a white country now, we don’t worship n*****s and mexicans.”
At this point, the man who had been walking with the black soldier started to turn around, looking frustrated with what he was saying.
Then the black soldier comforts him and pats him and pushes him away.
The video ends with the unknown photographer yelling, “You guys are not welcome here,” as the men leave him.
The video ends with the men completely turning away from the man who was following them
Newsweek recently spoke to Terence Kelley, director of media relations for the US Army, who said the matter is under investigation.
Kelly said officials are also investigating the video’s authenticity.
He said: “The US Army expects all Soldiers to uphold Army values on duty and in their spare time.
“We commend all Soldiers who display discipline and restraint when confronted with provocative behavior.”
The soldiers’ reactions, or lack thereof, won praise from those who came across them on Twitter.
‘Thank you for posting this.’ Often, military personnel who choose the hardest right over the easiest wrong are not recognized.”
Another wrote: “Proud of our boys for keeping their cool.”
“This is the Army I know and I’ve served in. I’ve served such people for 22 years. Hesitation… reassurance… amidst dislike of what looks American or Canadian. We do,” one wrote.
Since then, Army officials and social media users have praised the men for refusing to engage with the man who was seeking a response.
